A Historical Home Gets a New Look

The young family that purchased this early 20th century home had a strong vision for the design. They’d already removed walls to open up three smaller rooms into one open space. Paladin Design House came in to design the custom-built cabinetry in the kitchen, creating a layout and flow for the newfound space. Material selection and application was fun, as we wanted to make sure the windows were open and able to bring in a lot of light. The Carrara quartz kept a clean surface that did just this. The pantry was a fun detail, almost hidden from a quick glance as it matched the walls and was tucked into an existing opening left over from the original space. The back of the pantry touches the back of the built-in shown in the living room, another custom design. This room holds a lot of toys, books + games, creating a nice place to display the couple's fun and interesting collection while still hiding away some kid items. This fresh take on a classic home allowed the home's original details to shine, while complimenting them with clean lines and a simple palette, creating the perfect space for a modern family to grow.
